Response Time to Leads: Improving Your Lead Follow-up in 2007

     

Over the past three months we have been sharing the techniques of successful AgentInsider™ agents. One agent professed the following words of wisdom: “ You have to call them right away.” This agent always has at least one person dedicated to contacting AgentInsider™ leads as soon as they arrive. In this follow-up, he explained that you must call and introduce yourself, gain their trust, gather any additional information, and let them know that you'll be sending them a quote.

Here is an example of a follow-up email that is sent as soon as the agent receives a new AgentInsider™ lead. The email affords the agent time to put together a competitive quote without losing the consumer to another agent or carrier.

Dear [Customer First Name]:

My name is [Agent Name], and I represent [Agency Name]. This message is to inform you that we have received your request for an auto insurance quote on your [Car Model/Make].

[Customer First Name], providing you with a competitive quote is our number one priority today. I will have a quote for you by the end of day, however; if you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me at:
