How to Overcome the Holiday Slump

It's getting close to my favorite time of the year - the holidays. It's great to spend time with family and to celebrate the season. But those last six to eight weeks of the year are also the slowest for new business acquisition in the insurance industry. Would-be insurance shoppers and agents alike find themselves distracted by the holiday rush, jammed into mall parking lots endlessly searching for the season's "hottest" gifts. Unfortunately, this seasonality challenges those agents that are fighting to meet or exceed their year-end production goals. We encourage you to start planning now to help you overcome the holiday slump.

Expand into new ZIP Codes if you want to maintain or increase your existing lead volume
I recently spoke with an agent based in the panhandle of Texas. He wanted to ensure that his volume of leads is unaffected by the upcoming season. He knows all too well that new business is harder to come by as the end of the year approaches. Last year at this time, he was working with a different lead provider that limited his ability to target additional ZIP Codes. As a result, he was unable to expand his reach into new geography to help him reach his 2006 production goals.

Expanding into additional ZIP Code is quick and easy with AgentInsider®. The agent in Texas was targeting 13 ZIP Codes in his immediate area, which is currently generating an average of 6 auto leads and 2 homeowners leads per day. Together with the agent, we identified another 12 ZIP Codes in his area that will give him the quantity of leads he will need to maintain his lead volume until the end of the year. And with the lead volume feature in AgentInsider, there is no risk of getting too many leads. He set his Daily Maximum to 6 leads for auto and 2 leads for homeowners, ensuring that his lead volume will be maintained and that he will not waste dollars on leads he will be unable to manage.

Adjust your lead volume settings if you want more leads
Many AgentInsider® agents do not receive all of the leads in their selected ZIP Codes because of their Daily Maximum settings for lead volume (e.g. 2/day). When you expand into new ZIP Codes or compete for more leads, make sure to access the "Buy Leads" page, go to the "Set Your Maximum Lead Volume" section and raise your Daily Maximum or select "Unlimited" in order to receive more leads in your selected ZIP Codes.
